JAANA RINNE
PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
Jaana Rinne's photography exhibition on display upstairs at Shelter
during restaurant opening hours.
Please note the exceptional opening hours, which you can find more information about below.
Seven years ago, Helsinki looked bleak to the journalist-lyricist Jaana Rinne.
After travelling around the most beautiful places in Europe,
Rinne challenged herself and decided to discover the capital's secret beauty.
She found it in the streets: in the fleeting moments, the lights, the colours and the style of the people in the city.
The beauty of Helsinki was suddenly self-evident.
The more you photographed it, the more often it appeared.
You had to photograph all the time and everywhere.
In the golden light and the grey rain, in the softness of August and the blue darkness of January.
The roots of photography lie in childhood.
The aesthetics of the photographs are based on the Vogue fashion magazines
I read at the age of six, French film publications and American film noir.
Rinne is still in love with photography and the camera is driving her forward.
